Section 33-12-5 Powers, duties and functions. The powers, duties and functions of the agency
shall be as follows: (1) GENERALLY. The agency a. Shall have perpetual succession in its corporate
name. b. May sue and be sued in its corporate name. c. May adopt, use and alter a corporate
seal, which shall be judicially noticed. d. May enter into such contracts and cooperative
agreements with the federal, state and local governments, with agencies of such governments,
with private individuals, corporations, associations, trusts and other organizations as the

Section 34-25B-8 Alabama Private Investigation Board - Promulgation of rules; canons of ethics;
personnel; legal services. (a) The board may promulgate rules necessary to implement this
chapter and accomplish its objectives subject to the Alabama Administrative Procedure Act.

Section 5-2A-15 Appointment, etc., of assistants and employees generally; bond of deputy superintendent.
(a) Subject to the provisions of Section 36-26-1, et seq., the superintendent may appoint
or employ one or more deputy superintendents and such assistants, employees and attorneys
