Section 36-21-122 Employment of police officers. The tribal council of a tribe may appoint
and employ one or more suitable persons to act as police officers to protect the reservation
of the tribe from intruders and trespassers, to prevent damage to the properties and grounds
of the reservation of the tribe, and to provide for the safety of residents and employees
of the reservation of the tribe. No state or local funds allocated for law enforcement purposes
shall be used to provide financial support for the law enforcement officers hired by a tribe.
The authority of any person appointed as a police officer shall immediately cease when the

Section 12-21-135.1 Video testimony by certain witnesses. (a) This section shall be known as
the "Alabama Armed Services Accommodation Act." (b) The Legislature finds it to
be an important matter of public policy that an accommodation be made for military members
who are asked to testify in civil or criminal trials in this state but are unable to attend
in person. The purpose of this section is to ease the burdens on military personnel and their
families brought on by the duty of appearing as a witness in a trial in this state when summoned.

Section 45-16-82.27 Costs and fees. (a) An applicant may be assessed a fee when the applicant
is approved for the program. The amount of the assessment for participation in the program
shall be in addition to any court costs and assessments for victims or drug, alcohol, or anger
management treatment required by law, the district attorney, or the court, and are in addition
to costs of supervision, treatment, and restitution for which the pretrial diversion admittee

Section 45-49-101.08 Appeals. A person who contests a notice of violation and is adjudicated
by the court to be responsible for the civil fine may appeal the adjudication for a trial
de nova to the Circuit Court of Mobile County, in which the district or municipal court is
