Section 36-22-16 Compensation. (a) Sheriffs of the several counties in this state shall be
compensated for their services by an annual salary payable in equal installments out of the
county treasury as the salaries of other county employees are paid. The annual salary of the
sheriff shall be $35,000.00, commencing with the next term of office, unless a higher salary
is specifically provided for by law by general or local act hereafter enacted. (b) Such salary
shall be in lieu of all fees, compensation, allowance, percentages, charges and costs, except
as otherwise provided by law. The sheriff and his deputies shall, however, be entitled to
collect and retain such mileage and expense allowance as may be payable according to law for
returning or transferring prisoners and insane persons to or from points outside the county.

Section 45-22-11.01 Miscellaneous salaries and expenses. (a)(1) In lieu of any annual salaries
now provided by law, certain officials in Cullman County shall be entitled to annual salaries
as follows: a. Sheriff $33,500 b. Judge of Probate $33,500 c. Revenue Commissioner $33,000

Section 45-46-233.22 Salary deductions. The governing body of Marengo County shall immediately
upon July 30, 1979, begin deducting from the salary of the sheriff an amount equal to six
percent of the annual salary paid to the sheriff. Such sum shall be deducted monthly and distributed
at the end of the fiscal year to the tax collector or other person charged with the duties
of collecting ad valorem taxes in Marengo County. The tax collector shall distribute this
money on a pro rata millage basis to the state, county, and all subdivisions and agencies

Section 45-49-201 Supplemental salary. (a) Effective upon the expiration of the current term
of office, the License Commissioner of Mobile County shall be paid an annual supplemental
salary in the amount of ten thousand and five hundred dollars ($10,500). (b)(1) The supplemental

Beginning on June 1, 2007, the compensation of the Chair of the Houston County Commission
