Section 41-16-141 Definitions. For purposes of this article, the following terms shall have
the following meanings: (1) ENERGY COST SAVINGS MEASURE. A training program or new facility
or existing facility alteration designed to reduce energy consumption or operating costs,
or water and other natural resources consumption, and may include one or more of the following:
a. Insulation and reduced air infiltration of the building structure including walls, ceilings,
and roofs or systems within the building. b. Storm windows or doors, caulking or weather-stripping,
multiglazed windows or doors, heat absorbing or heat reflective glazed and coated window or
door systems, additional glazing, reductions in glass area, or other window and door system
modifications that reduce energy consumption. c. Automated or computerized energy control
systems, including computer software and technical data licenses. d. Heating, ventilating,
or air conditioning system modifications or replacements. e....

Section 23-7-2 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following words shall have

Section 29-4-50 Office of Lieutenant Governor; compensation; business travel. The Office of
the Lieutenant Governor shall be separate and distinct from the Legislature, any state agency,
entity, or official. The Lieutenant Governor may appoint, without regard to the State Merit
System law, such personnel as may be necessary to carry out the duties and functions of the
office. The compensation of personnel so employed shall be fixed by the Lieutenant Governor
in accordance with that of comparable positions established under the State Merit System pay
plan. The Lieutenant Governor may prescribe the duties and responsibilities of the personnel
of the office. All personnel appointed pursuant to this section shall serve at the pleasure

Section 40-2B-1 Legislative findings. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the
state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency to be known as the Alabama
Tax Tribunal to hear appeals of tax and other matters administered by the Department of Revenue
and certain self-administered counties and municipalities that choose to participate with
the Alabama Tax Tribunal to hear appeals of taxes levied by or on behalf of self-administered
counties or municipalities. Any judge of the Alabama Tax Tribunal shall have the requisite
knowledge and experience to hear and resolve disputes between taxpayers and the Department
of Revenue or taxpayers and any self-administered county or municipality that has elected
