Section 40-21-80 Definitions. (a) For the purpose of this article, the following terms shall
have the respective meanings ascribed by this section: (1) DEPARTMENT. The Department of Revenue
of the State of Alabama. (2) DOMESTIC WATER. All water except water that is sold to persons
for use or consumption in industrial processes and not primarily for human consumption. (3)
GROSS RECEIPTS. The value proceeding or accruing from the furnishing of utility services,
all receipts actual and accrued, without any deduction on account of the cost of the utility
services sold, the cost of the materials used, labor or service cost, interest paid, or any
other expenses whatever, and without any deductions on account of losses. (4) GROSS SALES.
The value proceeding or accruing from the furnishing of utility services, and including the
proceeds from the sale of any utility services handled on consignment by the taxpayer, without

Section 22-30E-3 Definitions. Unless otherwise defined in this chapter, the definition of all
terms included in Section 22-30-3 shall be applicable to this chapter. Other definitions as
necessary may be promulgated as regulations by the department for further implementation of
this chapter. Also, as used in this chapter, the following words and terms have the following
meanings: (1) ALABAMA LAND RECYCLING AND ECONOMIC REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION. That commission

Section 26-19B-2 Emergency Missing Child Alert System established; implementation. (a) There
is established a statewide Emergency Missing Child Alert System to be developed and implemented
by the Secretary of the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency, or his or her designee, who
shall serve as the state coordinator of the alert system. (b) The agency shall implement this
system in conjunction with any existing missing child notification system used by the agency.

Section 31-5-7 State Service Commissioner - Duties generally; compensation. (a) The State Service
Commissioner shall submit to the State Board of Veterans' Affairs for its approval an annual
budget of all funds appropriated by the Legislature to the department for the specific purposes

Section 22-37A-3 Scope of chapter; functions of board. (a) With regard to facilities, the scope
of this chapter shall not exceed the requirements of Title IV of the Federal Toxic Substances
Control Act. (b) The board may develop a statewide program to identify and reduce the threat

Section 40-18-140 Contribution designations. (a)(1) Each Alabama resident individual income
taxpayer desiring to contribute to any of the programs listed in subsection (b) may designate
an amount of his or her refund, rounded off in whole dollars, in an appropriate box on the
state income tax return form, to be credited to the program. (2) All future check-offs, duly
