Section 36-18-4 Salary and expenses. The salary of the director shall be established as provided in Section 36-6-6 and shall be payable out of the funds provided therefor in the general appropriation bill or out of any funds in the State Treasury not otherwise appropriated and as the salaries of other state officers are paid. The director and his staff shall be furnished with offices and laboratories at the expense of the state and shall also be allowed all necessary expenses for the equipment and conduct of his offices and laboratories, including stenographic and laboratory assistance, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this article. Such expenses are to be paid by warrants approved by the Governor and shall be limited in amount to the sum provided therefor in the general appropriation bill.
