Section 11-65-10 Powers and duties of commission. When authorized by one or more elections as provided in Section 11-65-4, a commission shall have the powers and duties necessary to license, regulate, and supervise horse racing and pari-mutuel wagering thereon and greyhound racing and pari-mutuel wagering thereon within the commission municipal jurisdiction, including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the powers and duties hereinafter set forth in this section or in other sections of this chapter. (1) A commission shall have succession in perpetuity, subject only to the provisions of this chapter as it may be amended from time to time. (2) A commission shall have the power to sue and be sued in its own name in civil suits and actions and to defend suits against it. Section 10A-3-7.08 Involuntary dissolution - Procedure; notification to Attorney General. The Secretary of State shall certify to the Attorney General, from time to time, the names of all nonprofit corporations which have given cause for dissolution as provided in this chapter, together with the facts pertinent thereto. Whenever the Secretary of State shall certify the name of a nonprofit corporation to the Attorney General as having given any cause for dissolution, the Secretary of State shall concurrently mail to the nonprofit corporation at its registered office a notice that the certification has been made. (a) A person commits the crime of phishing if the person by means of an Internet web page, electronic mail message, or otherwise using the Internet, solicits, requests, or takes any action to induce another person to provide identifying information by representing that the person, either directly or by implication, is a business, without the authority or approval of the business. Section 37-15-10.1 Underground Damage Prevention Authority. (a) The Underground Damage Prevention Authority is created for the purpose of enforcing this chapter and for reviewing penalty provisions and the adequacy of the enforcement process. It is the intent of the Legislature that the authority and its enforcement activities not be funded by appropriations from the state budget.
