Section 15-12-45 Approval of expenditures, salaries, etc.; employment of assistants, investigators,
etc. (a) The director may approve expenditures for attorneys, investigators, other personnel
and nonpersonnel expenses of the public defender. Authorized employees of the public defender
offices shall be entitled to annual and sick leave, insurance, retirement, and other state
employee benefits, including cost-of-living raises, authorized by the Legislature for state
employees. (b) The operating expenses and staff salaries and benefits for the offices of the
public defender shall be approved in advance by the director as part of an annual budget for
the subject public defender's office and, once the budget is approved, shall be paid by the
state from funds appropriated annually from the Fair Trial Tax Fund or other funds appropriated

Section 41-15-10 Premiums and collected earnings to constitute trust fund; surplus may be invested
in bonds, stocks, mutual funds, etc.; limitations and conditions; requisition for payment

Section 32-2-10 Insurance for employees. The state Department of Public Safety is authorized,
subject to approval by the Governor, to insure its employees in some insurance company or
companies authorized to do business in the State of Alabama against personal injury

Section 11-18-3 Board of trustees; trust fund; contributions by county, state, etc. The county
commission is authorized, with the approval of the Governor, to appoint a board of three trustees

Section 16-16-15 Incentive fund and council. (a) There is hereby created the Alabama Public
School and College Education Incentive Fund (Incentive Fund). Fifty-five million dollars ($55,000,000)

Section 41-9-545 Audit of books; operation of Governor's Mansion Complex; inventory; Governor's
Mansion Preservation Fund. (a) The authority shall keep an account of all receipts and expenditures.
