Section 16-22-17 Payroll deductions for participation in statewide programs. (a) When
used in this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings, respectively:
(1) EMPLOYEE. Any person employed full-time as provided by law by those employers enumerated
in this section and adult bus drivers. (2) EMPLOYER. All public city and county boards

Section 25-4-10 Employment. (a) Subject to other provisions of this chapter, "employment"
means: (1) Any service performed prior to January 1, 1978, which was employment as defined

Section 25-5-50 Applicability; exemptions; coverage for school boards, volunteer fire

Section 32-5A-191.4 Ignition interlock devices. (a) As used in Section 32-5A-191,
the term, "ignition interlock device" means a constant monitoring device that prevents
a motor vehicle from being started at any time without first determining the equivalent blood
alcohol level of the operator through the taking of a breath sample for testing. The system
shall be calibrated so that the motor vehicle may not be started if the blood alcohol level
of the operator, as measured by the test, reaches a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.02.
(b) The ignition interlock device shall be installed, calibrated, and monitored directly by
trained technicians who shall train the offender for whom the device is being installed in
the proper use of the device. The use of a mail in or remote calibration system where the
technician is not in the immediate proximity of the vehicle being calibrated is prohibited.

Section 45-8A-71.13 Employees, officers, or officials removed, discharged, or demoted;
proceedings; appeals. (a) The governing body of the city may remove, discharge, or demote
any employee, officer, or official of the city who is subject to this part and who is directly
under the governing body, provided that within five working days a report in writing of the
action is made to the board, giving the reason for the removal, discharge, or demotion. The
employee shall have 10 working days from the time of written notification of his or her discharge,
removal, or demotion in which to appeal to the board. Upon receipt of the appeal, the board
shall order the charges or complaint to be filed with it in writing and shall hold a hearing
