Section 8-19A-5 Licensing; application for license. (a) Prior to doing business in this state, a commercial telephone seller shall obtain a license from the division. Doing business in this state includes both telephone solicitation from a location in Alabama and solicitation from other states or nations of purchasers located in Alabama. (b) An applicant for a license as a commercial telephone seller shall submit to the division, in the form prescribed, a written application for the license. The application shall set forth the following information: (1) The true name, date of birth, driver's license number, Social Security number, and home address of the applicant, including each name under which he or she intends to do business. (2) Each business or occupation engaged in by the applicant during the three years immediately preceding the date of the application, and the location thereof. (a) The Legislature finds that the number of students attending the several school systems located in those areas of North Alabama that will be directly impacted by the 2005 BRAC and Subsequent BRAC Actions will collectively increase by an estimated 9,000 students. As a result, there will be a need for the construction of additional school facilities as well as the renovation of existing school facilities.
