Section 10A-10-1.02 Definitions. As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires,
the following words shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them: (1) REAL ESTATE
INVESTMENT TRUST. An unincorporated trust or association in which property is acquired, held,
managed, administered, controlled, invested, or disposed of for the benefit and profit of
any person who may become a shareholder or an entity that otherwise complies with the provisions
of 26 U.S.C. Sections 856 to 860, inclusive, of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, as amended
from time to time, and the rulings and regulations adopted thereunder. (2) SHARE. A transferable
unit of beneficial interest in a real estate investment trust. (3) SHAREHOLDER. The holder

Section 16-47A-5 Board of Trustees - Powers and duties. (a) The board shall have all the rights,
privileges, and franchises necessary to the promotion of the ends of its creation, and shall
be charged with all corresponding duties, liabilities, and responsibilities. The board may

Section 26-2A-156 Claims against protected person; enforcement. (a) A conservator may pay or
secure from the estate claims against the estate or against the protected person arising before
or after the conservatorship upon their presentation and allowance in accordance with the
priorities stated in subsection (d). A claim may be presented by either of the following methods:
(1) The claimant may deliver or mail to the conservator a written statement of the claim indicating
its basis, the name and mailing address of the claimant, and the amount claimed; or (2) The
claimant may file a written statement of the claim, in the form prescribed by rules of the
