Section 11-50A-8 Powers of the authority. In addition to other powers granted the authority by this chapter, it shall have all powers consistent with the purposes of the authority as set forth in Section 11-50A-3, which are necessary or convenient to carry out and effectuate the purposes and provisions of this chapter, including, but without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following enumerated powers, which shall be exercised by the authority consistently with the provisions of Section 11-50A-3: (1) To sue and be sued and to prosecute and defend in any court having jurisdiction of the subject matter and of the parties thereto; (2) To adopt and alter a corporate seal; (3) To make and alter at pleasure all needful bylaws, rules, and regulations for the transaction of its business and the control of its property and affairs; (4) To have the same right of eminent domain through condemnation conferred by Section 10-5-1, or any subsequent statute of similar import; provided...

Section 25-5-8 Employers' options to secure payment of compensation. (a) Option to insure risks. An employer subject to this chapter may secure the payment of compensation under this chapter by insuring and keeping insured his or her liability in some insurance corporation, association, organization, insurance association, corporation, or association formed of employers and workers or formed by a group of employers to insure the risks under this chapter, operating by mutual assessment or other plans or otherwise. Section 27-44-8 Powers and duties of association. (a) If a member insurer is an impaired insurer, the association may, in its discretion and subject to any conditions imposed by the association that do not impair the contractual obligations of the impaired insurer, and that are approved by the commissioner: (1) Guarantee or reinsure, or cause to be guaranteed, assumed, or reinsured, any or all of the covered policies of the impaired insurers. Section 5-5A-44 Acquisition of majority of voting shares of a bank; procedure. (a) No person, acting directly or indirectly or through or in concert with one or more persons, may acquire control of a state bank or of any corporation or other entity having control of a state bank, unless an application is filed with the superintendent for review of the proposed transaction and for his or her action, if any, as provided in this section. (b) The application shall be on a form prescribed by the superintendent and shall be made under oath. Section 27-60-2 Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact. The State of Alabama hereby agrees to the following interstate compact known as the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact: ARTICLE I. PURPOSES.
