Section 35-5A-8 Transfer by obligor. (a) Subject to subsections (b) and (c), a person not subject to Section 35-5A-6 or 35-5A-7 who holds property of or owes a liquidated debt to a minor not having a conservator may make an irrevocable transfer to a custodian for the benefit of the minor pursuant to Section 35-5A-10. (b) If a person having the right to do so under Section 35-5A-4 has nominated a custodian under that section to receive the custodial property, the transfer must be made to that person. (c) If no custodian has been nominated under Section 35-5A-4, or all persons so nominated as custodian die before the transfer or are unable, decline, or are ineligible to serve, a transfer under this section may be made to an adult member of the minor's family or to a trust company unless the property exceeds fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) in value. Section 35-5A-19 Renunciation, resignation, death or removal of custodian; designation of successor custodian. Section 38-4-14 Limitations on use of public assistance benefits. (a) For the purposes of this section, the term public assistance benefits means money or property provided directly or indirectly to eligible persons through programs of the federal government, the state, or any political subdivision thereof, and administered by the Alabama Department of Human Resources. (b)(1) A recipient of public assistance benefits may not use any portion of the benefits for the purchase of any alcoholic beverage, tobacco product, or lottery ticket. Any person who violates this subsection shall reimburse the Department of Human Resources for the purchase and shall be subject to the following sanctions: a. Section 22-30D-7 Expenditure of funds. (a) Prior to the approval of an expenditure of any funds under this chapter with respect to payment for costs incurred for investigation, assessment, and, if necessary, remediation at a particular site, every owner or operator covered by this chapter, person owning any abandoned drycleaning facility eligible for coverage by this chapter, or impacted third party filing a request with the board for payment, shall accept responsibility for the first ten thousand dollars ($10,000), as a deductible amount, of the actual costs to be incurred with that particular site. Section 25-8-59 Penalties; notice of violation and opportunity to show cause; hearing.
