Section 22-28-2 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall
have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) AIR POLLUTION.
The presence in the outdoor atmosphere of one or more air contaminants in such quantities
and duration as are, or tend to be, injurious to human health or welfare, animal or plant
life or property or would interfere with the enjoyment of life or property throughout the
state and in such territories of the state as shall be affected thereby. (2) AIR CONTAMINANT.
Any solid, liquid or gaseous matter, any odor or any combination thereof, from whatever source.
(3) COMMISSION. The Alabama Department of Environmental Management. (4) PERSON. Any and all
persons, natural or artificial, including, but not limited to, any individual, partnership,

Section 27-13-60 Definitions. For the purposes of this article, unless otherwise stated,
the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:
(1) RATE. The unit charge by which the measure of exposure or the amount of insurance specified
in a policy of insurance or covered thereunder is multiplied to determine the premium. (2)
PREMIUM. The consideration paid or to be paid to an insurer for the issuance and delivery
of any binder or policy of insurance. (3) RATE-MAKING. The examination and analysis of every

Section 27-12A-1 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have
the following meanings: (1) COMMISSIONER. The Alabama Commissioner of Insurance or his or

as used in this article: (1) HEALTH BENEFIT PLAN. Any individual or group plan, employee welfare
benefit plan, policy, or contract for health care services issued, delivered, issued for delivery,

and sickness insurer, fraternal benefit society, nonprofit hospital service corporation, nonprofit
