Section 35-11-91 Lien declared in favor of agricultural laborers and superintendents.
Agricultural laborers and superintendents of plantations shall have a lien upon the crops
grown during the current year in and about which they are employed, for the hire and wages
due them for labor and services rendered by them in and about the cultivation of such crops
under any contract for such labor and services; but such liens shall be subordinate to the
landlord's lien for rent and advances, and to any other lien for supplies furnished to make

contributions, in such manner as to make them tenants in common in such crops, or their assignees,
shall each have a lien upon the interest of the other in such crops for any balance due for

Section 7-9A-333 Priority of certain liens arising by operation of law. (a) "Possessory
lien." In this section, "possessory lien" means an interest, other than
a security interest or an agricultural lien: (1) which secures payment or performance of an
obligation for services or materials furnished with respect to goods by a person in the ordinary
course of the person's business; (2) which is created by statute or rule of law in favor of
the person; and (3) whose effectiveness depends on the person's possession of the goods. (b)

Section 25-4-10 Employment. (a) Subject to other provisions of this chapter, "employment"
means: (1) Any service performed prior to January 1, 1978, which was employment as defined
