Section 32-6-1 Required; expiration date; renewal; identification cards for nondrivers. (a) Every person, except those specifically exempted by statutory enactment, shall procure a driver's license before driving a motor vehicle upon the highways of this state. Every new resident of the State of Alabama shall procure an Alabama driver's license within 30 days after establishing residence in this state. The board shall keep a record of its proceedings and a register of all applications for registration, which register shall show the name, age and residence of each applicant, the date of the application, the place of business of such applicant, his or her educational and other qualifications, whether or not an examination was required, whether or not the application was rejected, whether or not a license of registration was granted, the date of the action by the board, and such other information as may be deemed necessary by the board. The board of barber commissioners shall charge and collect the following fees: (1) The original as well as any subsequent examination fee for barber or apprentice shall be twenty-five dollars ($25) per examination.
