Section 36-25-1 Definitions. Whenever used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall have the following meanings: (1) BUSINESS. Any corporation, partnership, proprietorship, firm, enterprise, franchise, association, organization, self-employed individual, or any other legal entity. (2) BUSINESS WITH WHICH THE PERSON IS ASSOCIATED. Any business of which the person or a member of his or her family is an officer, owner, partner, board of director member, employee, or holder of more than five percent of the fair market value of the business. (3) CANDIDATE. This term as used in this chapter shall have the same meaning ascribed to it in Section 17-5-2. (4) COMMISSION. The State Ethics Commission. (5) COMPLAINT. Written allegation or allegations that a violation of this chapter has occurred. (6) COMPLAINANT. Section 5-26-5 State license and registration application and issuance. (1) Application form. Applicants for a license shall apply in a form as prescribed by the supervisor. Each such form shall contain content as set forth by rule, regulation, instruction, or procedure of the supervisor and may be changed or updated as necessary by the supervisor in order to carry out the purposes of this chapter. (2) License fee. Each application shall be filed with an initial license fee of seventy-five dollars ($75). Section 12-17-330 Appointment; rehearing; ratification of findings and recommendations. (a) The Administrative Director of Courts may authorize one or more referee positions in any judicial circuit on either a full-time or a part-time basis upon submission of a written request by the presiding circuit court judge and upon consideration of funding and the number of child support cases in the domestic relations division of the circuit court, including cases brought pursuant to Title IV-D of the Social Security Act. Once the Administrative Director of Courts approves the request, the presiding judge of the circuit court may appoint an attorney the judge believes to be qualified to fill the position, subject to the approval of the Administrative Director of Courts. Section 34-24-167 Refusal, revocation, or suspension - Notice of hearing; procedure. (a) In a contested case, all parties shall be afforded an opportunity for hearing after reasonable notice in writing delivered either by personal service as in civil actions or by certified mail, return receipt requested. Delivery of the notice referred to in this subsection shall constitute commencement of the contested case proceeding. Section 34-29-111 Duties of board; Alabama Veterinary Professionals Wellness Committee; liability. Section 34-36-6 Powers and duties of board. (a) By rule, the board shall make provisions to do all of the following: (1) Prepare or approve all examinations of applicants for licenses for electrical contractors and journeyman electricians.
