Section 37-11A-1 Execution and text of compact. The Governor, on behalf of this state, shall execute a compact, in substantially the following form, with the State of Mississippi, and the Legislature approves and ratifies the compact in the form substantially as follows: Northeast Mississippi - Northwest Alabama Railroad Authority Compact. Section 33-1-5 Officers and employees; employee compensation plan. (a) All employees and officers of the Alabama State Port Authority, except the director, executive level employees hired pursuant to Section 33-1-3, and those exempt under Section 36-26-10, shall be subject to the provisions of the state Merit System law with respect to the method of selection, classification, and compensation of state employees.
