Section 45-26-142.08 Approval by voters; certification of election results. No district shall be created unless it is approved by the majority of votes cast by the qualified voters in the proposed district, provided that no person may vote more than once in the election. At any election on the establishment of a district, the question of the establishment of the district shall be submitted separately. Upon the officers canvassing the returns of the election certifying that the creation of the district was approved by the majority of the votes of qualified voters cast at the election, the proposed district shall be created and constitute a public corporation. (a) Credit shall be allowed when the reinsurance is ceded to an assuming insurer that is certified by the commissioner as a reinsurer in this state and secures its obligations in accordance with the requirements of this section.
