Section 8-26B-30 Alabama Athlete Agents Commission. (a) The Alabama Athlete Agents Commission is continued in existence. The commission shall consist of the Secretary of State and 18 members to be appointed as follows: (1) One member appointed by the Governor. (2) One member appointed by the Lieutenant Governor. (3) One member appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives. (4) The athletic director or an individual appointed by the athletic director at each of the following institutions of higher education: a. Auburn University. b. University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. c. (a)(1) The Commission on Higher Education is authorized to review periodically all new and existing programs and units of instruction, research, and public service funded by state appropriations at the state universities and colleges and to share with the appropriate governing board, through the president of the institution, and state Legislature, its recommendations. (a) To ensure that public school students are able to read at or above grade level by the end of third grade, each local education agency shall offer a comprehensive core reading program to all students based on the science of reading which develops foundational reading skills.
