Section 34-16-4 Licensure Board for Interpreters and Transliterators - Creation; composition; meetings; duties; compensation. (a) There is created the Alabama Licensure Board for Interpreters and Transliterators. (b) The board shall consist of nine members appointed by the Governor as follows: (1) Four members certified as interpreters or transliterators at a professional level by a nationally recognized certification, one of whom shall work in an educational setting. A list of three nominations for each of these positions shall be submitted to the Governor by ALRID. (2) Three deaf or hard of hearing members who are knowledgeable in the field of professional interpreting. Section 34-24-166 Refusal, revocation, or suspension - Grounds; rules; disciplinary action. (a) The State Board of Chiropractic Examiners may refuse to grant a license or permit to any applicant who is not of good moral character and reputation or has a history of narcotic addiction or has previously been convicted of a felony or any crime of moral turpitude or has previously been diagnosed as having a psychopathic disorder. (a) All municipalities shall have the following powers: (1) To license any exhibition, trade, business, vocation, occupation, or profession not prohibited by the Constitution or laws of the state which may be engaged in or carried on in the municipality.
