Section 34-1-12 Suspension, revocation, etc., of certificate, registration, or permit;
fines. THIS SECTION WAS AMENDED BY ACT 2018-106 IN THE 2018 REGULAR SESSION, EFFECTIVE
MAY 1, 2018. THIS IS NOT IN THE CURRENT CODE SUPPLEMENT. (a) After notice and hearing as provided
in Section 34-1-14, the board may suspend for a period not to exceed three years or
revoke any certificate issued under Section 34-1-4, or any registration granted under
Section 34-1-5 or 34-1-8, or any practice privilege granted pursuant to Section
34-1-7; may revoke, suspend, or refuse to renew any permit issued under Section 34-1-11;
or may censure the holder of any permit or any practice privilege for any one or any combination
of the following causes: (1) Fraud or deceit in obtaining a certificate as a certified public
accountant, registration under this chapter, or a permit to practice public accounting under
this chapter. (2) Dishonesty, fraud, or gross negligence in the practice of public accounting.

Section 36-30-1 Definitions; dependents; persons eligible for compensation. (a) For
the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings:

Section 8-32-3 Requirements for selling or offering to sell service contracts. (a) Either
the provider or its designee shall: (1) Provide a receipt for, or other written evidence of,
the purchase of the service contract to the contract holder. (2) Provide a copy of the service
contract to the service contract holder within a reasonable period of time from the date of
purchase. (b) A provider may, but is not required to, appoint an administrator or other designee
to be responsible for any or all of the administration of service contracts and compliance
with this chapter. (c) Each provider of service contracts sold in this state shall file a

Section 16-46-6 Permit for solicitation of students. (a) No person representing any
private postsecondary institution or other individual or organization offering courses in
this state, or from a place of business in this state, whether located within or outside this
state, shall sell any course or solicit students therefor in this state for a consideration
or remuneration unless a permit is first secured from the Department of Postsecondary Education,
with the exception of agents representing schools exempted under Section 16-46-3. If

Section 23-2-153 Exemptions from levy, charge, assessment, collection, etc., of certain
taxes; certificate of exemption. (a) The exercise of the powers granted by this article shall
be in all respects for the benefit of the people of the state, for the increase of their commerce
and prosperity, and for the improvement of their health and living conditions. Since the ownership,

Section 25-13-1 Purpose. (a) The purpose of this chapter is to provide for the safety
of life and limb and to promote public safety awareness. The use of unsafe and defective lifting
devices imposes a substantial probability of serious and preventable injury to employees and
the public exposed to unsafe conditions. The prevention of these injuries and protection of
employees and the public from unsafe conditions is in the best interest of the people of this
state. Elevator personnel performing work covered by this chapter shall by documented training
