Section 16-47-122 Board of Medical Scholarship Awards - Composition; terms of members;
chairman. (a) The Board of Medical Scholarship Awards shall be composed of three members of
the Board of Censors of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the Executive Officer

Section 34-24-380 Penalties for violation of Section 20-2-54, rules, or regulations.
(a) In addition to any other penalty authorized under Section 20-2-54, the State Board
of Medical Examiners, acting in its capacity as a certifying board, may in its discretion
assess administrative fines not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for each violation
of any of the provisions of Section 20-2-54, or any rule or regulation duly promulgated

Section 34-24-601 Legislative findings. The Legislature finds that the diversion, abuse,
and misuse of prescription medications classified as controlled substances under the Alabama
Uniform Controlled Substances Act constitute a serious threat to the health, safety, and welfare
of the citizens of the State of Alabama. The Legislature further finds that the registration
of all physicians providing pain management services, as defined in this article, will assist
