Section 34-29-71 Temporary license. (a) The board may issue a temporary license to practice veterinary medicine to an unlicensed applicant providing the applicant meets all conditions and requirements of this article relating to qualifications of applicants for license to practice veterinary medicine. Any person applying for a temporary license shall associate himself or herself with a licensed doctor of veterinary medicine. His or her license shall be limited to the work of a licensed doctor of veterinary medicine and he or she shall not participate without direct supervision in the practice of or operation of a branch office, clinic, or allied establishment. An applicant may work under the indirect supervision in the primary clinic of his or her employer. The license, when granted, shall bear the name and address of the licensed doctor of veterinary medicine. There shall be a fee which shall not be refundable for the temporary license. Any person who shall practice veterinary medicine without a current valid license shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined not less than five hundred dollars ($500) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or imprisoned for not more than 90 days, or both, and each act of unlawful practice shall constitute a distinct and separate offense. Section 34-29-78 Injunction against unauthorized practice of veterinary medicine. The board or any citizen of this state may bring action in the Circuit Court of Montgomery County to enjoin any person from practicing veterinary medicine without a currently valid license or temporary permit. If the court finds that the person is violating or is threatening to violate this article, it shall enter an injunction restraining him or her from such unlawful acts. Each and every person, firm, or corporation holding a seafood dealer's license issued by the Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources or his or her authorized agent shall under oath make a monthly report to the Director of the Marine Resources Division of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources on blanks provided for that purpose by the director, which report shall show in detail the weight in pounds of each species of fish purchased from commercial fishermen during the preceding month.
