Section 27-60-2 Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact. The State of Alabama hereby agrees to the following interstate compact known as the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact: ARTICLE I. PURPOSES. The purposes of this compact are, through means of joint and cooperative action among the compacting states: 1. To promote and protect the interest of consumers of individual and group annuity, life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance products; 2. To develop uniform standards for insurance products covered under the compact; 3. Section 10A-20-6.03 Health care facilities which may participate. Any health care facility capable of entering into a binding contract may participate as a member of the corporation if the health care facility: (1) Is approved by the appropriate state licensing agency having regulatory control over the facility; and (2) Is accepted as a member by majority vote of the corporation's board of directors. The corporation and all health care facilities approved and accepted for membership shall enter into contracts which shall govern their respective rights and obligations and which shall be adopted and may be altered, amended, or repealed by majority vote of the board of directors of the corporation.
