Section 34-28A-21 Qualifications of applicants for licenses. (a) To be eligible for licensure by the board as a speech-language pathologist or audiologist a person shall meet each of the following qualifications and requirements: (1) Be of good moral character. (2) Make application to the board on a form prescribed by the board. (3) Pay to the board the appropriate application fee. (4) Pass an examination in speech-language pathology or audiology approved by the board. (5) Be a citizen of the United States or, if not a citizen of the United States, a person who is legally present in the United States with appropriate documentation from the federal government. The board shall issue a license as a licensed professional counselor to each applicant who files an application upon a form and in a manner as the board prescribes, accompanied by a fee as is required in this chapter, and who furnishes satisfactory evidence of the following to the board: (1) The applicant is at least 19 years of age.
