Section 22-19-181 Cooperation between coroner, medical examiner, and procurement organization. (a) A coroner or medical examiner or district attorney or local public health official or a designee shall cooperate with procurement organizations to maximize the opportunity to recover anatomical gifts for the purpose of transplantation, therapy, research, or education when it has been determined that the recovery will not interfere with a death investigation. The organ procurement organization, tissue bank, and eye bank will make every reasonable effort to seek approval and release from the coroner or medical examiner or district attorney or designee prior to proceeding with consent approaches to the authorized parties as described in this article. (a) There is created and established a State Board of Midwifery to implement and administer this chapter. Section 34-21-2 Board of Nursing generally. (a) There is created the Board of Nursing, which shall be composed of 13 members to be appointed and have the duties and powers enumerated in this section. The membership of the board shall be inclusive and reflect the racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state. In order to insure continuity of administration, the nine board members provided for by Section 3 of Act 427, Regular Session 1975, shall continue to serve to the completion of the term for which they are serving.
