Section 32-1-1.1 Definitions. The following words and phrases when used in this title, for the purpose of this title, shall have meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, except when the context otherwise requires: (1) ALLEY. A street or highway intended to provide access to the rear or side of lots or buildings in urban districts and not intended for the purpose of through vehicular traffic. (2) ARTERIAL STREET. Any United States or state numbered route, controlled-access highway, or other major radial or circumferential street or highway designated by local authorities within their respective jurisdictions as part of a major arterial system of streets or highways. (3) AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLE. Such fire department vehicles, police vehicles, and ambulances as are publicly owned, and such other publicly or privately owned vehicles as are designated by the Secretary of the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency or the chief of police of an incorporated city. Section 34-14A-7 Applications for issuance or renewal of license; records; inactive license. (a) Any residential home builder who desires to receive a new or renewal license under this chapter shall make and file with the board 30 days prior to the next meeting of the board a written application on a form prescribed by the board. Each applicant shall be a citizen of the United States or, if not a citizen of the United States, a person who is legally present in the United States with appropriate documentation from the federal government. Section 34-21A-12 Licenses. (a) The board shall establish the following types of licenses: (1) A basic level installer license. (2) An advanced level I installer license. (3) An advanced level II installer license. (4) A manufacturer's license. (5) A pumper license. (6) A portable toilet license. Section 34-34A-6 Creation of board of examiners; members; qualifications of members; term of membership; duties of board. (a) The State Board of Examiners for Dietetics/Nutrition Practice is hereby created. (b) The board shall consist of three members. (a)(1) For purposes of this section, the term motor vehicle means a motor vehicle as defined in Section 40-12-240, as amended, excluding any trailer qualifying as a utility trailer. Section 40-12-253 Ad valorem taxation of motor vehicles. (a) Effective January 1, 2000, ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall be assessed and the tax collected forward on a current basis to coincide with the collection of motor vehicle license taxes and registration fees.
