Section 40-23-60 Definitions. For the purpose of this article, the following terms shall have the respective meanings ascribed to them in this section: (1) PERSON or COMPANY. Any individual, firm, company, partnership, association, corporation, receiver or trustee, or any other group or combination acting as a unit, and the plural as well as the singular number, unless the intention to give a more limited meaning is disclosed by the context. The fee requirements of this chapter shall apply to all polygraph examiners, including those employed by governmental agencies, and to those who engage in polygraph examinations on any commercial basis. (a) Every applicant for an original driver license, temporary instruction and learner's permit, and motor driven cycle operator's license, shall pay an examination fee of five dollars ($5) to the Alabama Department of Public Safety upon applying to the officer, state trooper, or duly authorized agent of the Director of Public Safety, or to one of them where there is more than one designated by the Director of Public Safety. (a)(1) In addition to other requirements of this chapter, every applicant for a broker's or salesperson's license shall submit to a reasonable written examination.
