Section 34-24-50.1 Definitions. Unless otherwise indicated from the context, the terms set out below as used in Articles 3, 8, 9, and 10 of this chapter shall have the following meanings: (1) PHYSICIAN. Either a doctor of medicine or a doctor of osteopathy. (2) LICENSED TO PRACTICE MEDICINE. Section 26-23-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) FATHER. The biological father of the human fetus. (2) MOTHER. The female who is pregnant with a live human fetus which may be subject to a partial-birth abortion under this chapter. (3) PARTIAL-BIRTH ABORTION. An abortion in which the person performing the abortion partially vaginally delivers a living fetus before killing the fetus and completing the delivery. (4) PHYSICIAN.
