Section 45-49-252 Definitions. The following words, phases, or terms as used in this part, unless the context indicates otherwise, shall have the following meanings: (1) ABANDONED PROPERTY. Wrecked or derelict property having no value other than nominal salvage value, if any, which has been left abandoned and unprotected from the elements and shall include wrecked, inoperative, or partially dismantled motor vehicles, trailers, boats, machinery, refrigerators, washing machines, plumbing fixtures, and other similar articles which have no value other than nominal salvage value, if any; and is in a condition violative of Alabama statutes. (2) ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT. The department charged by the Mobile County Commission with the administrative management of this part. (3) COMMISSION. Section 8-20-4 Unfair and deceptive trade practices. Notwithstanding the terms, provisions, or conditions of any dealer agreement or franchise or the terms or provisions of any waiver, prior to the termination, cancellation, or nonrenewal of any dealer agreement or franchise, the following acts or conduct shall constitute unfair and deceptive trade practices: (1) For any manufacturer, factory branch, factory representative, distributor, or wholesaler, distributor branch, or distributor representative to coerce or attempt to coerce any motor vehicle dealer to do any of the following: a. Section 34-25A-3 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ACCREDITED FACILITY. A facility where prosthetic, orthotic, prosthetic and orthotic, or pedorthic care is provided to patients needing such care and has met the requirements of the board for such designation. The board shall require that all accredited facilities meet the requirements of a national certifying board, recognized by the state board in prosthetics, orthotics, and pedorthics accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) in the discipline or disciplines for which the application is made and meet any other requirements of the board. The requirements may include custom and non-custom items the board may determine are necessary to perform quality care and are typical in the course of business. (2) ACCREDITED PEDORTHIC FACILITY. Section 39-2-2 Advertisement for and opening of sealed bids for public works contracts; violations; exclusions; emergency actions; sole source specification. (a) Before entering into any contract for a public works involving an amount in excess of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000), the awarding authority shall advertise for sealed bids, except as provided in subsection (j).
