Section 34-32-6 Persons exempt from chapter. The following persons shall be exempt from the provisions of this chapter: (1) Any person not a resident of and having no established place of business in this state, practicing or offering to practice herein the profession of soil classifier when such practice does not exceed a total of 30 days in any calendar year, provided such person is legally qualified by registration to practice the profession in his or her own state or country in which the requirements and qualifications for obtaining registration are not lower than those specified in this chapter. Section 32-5A-191.4 Ignition interlock devices. (a) As used in Section 32-5A-191, the term, "ignition interlock device" means a constant monitoring device that prevents a motor vehicle from being started at any time without first determining the equivalent blood alcohol level of the operator through the taking of a breath sample for testing. The system shall be calibrated so that the motor vehicle may not be started if the blood alcohol level of the operator, as measured by the test, reaches a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.02. (b) The ignition interlock device shall be installed, calibrated, and monitored directly by trained technicians who shall train the offender for whom the device is being installed in the proper use of the device.
