Section 45-28A-42.22 Bond required. No applicant for a position on the police force who has fulfilled all other requirements of this subpart and been appointed to a position as a member of the police department of the city shall enter upon the discharge and performance of his or her duties as a member of such police department until he or she has filed with the city clerk of such municipality a bond conditioned according to the law relating to official bonds, in the following penal sums: Chief of police, assistant chief of police, and all other members of the police departments one thousand dollars ($1,000) each. (a) Except where otherwise specifically provided by law for county taxing officials and judges of probate, the bond for each county official shall be one-half of one percent of the amount budgeted in the then current county budget for activities conducted by or under the direction of the individual county official, but the bond amount for any county official shall not exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000). (a) Any person who desires to engage in any of the practices regulated by the board pursuant to this chapter shall be a citizen of the United States or, if not a citizen of the United States, a person who is legally present in the United States with appropriate documentation from the federal government, and shall file with the board a written application for examination or licensure. (a) The board shall establish by rule fees to be charged to an appraisal management company in an amount sufficient to sustain administration of this article.
