Section 34-13-53 Renewal of licenses; authorization; attestation of identity; records. (a)(1) Before October 1, 2018, every licensed funeral director, licensed embalmer, and licensed operator shall pay annually a fee for renewal of his or her license. The renewal fees shall be set by the board at a rate not to exceed one hundred fifty dollars ($150) for licensed embalmers and funeral directors and five hundred dollars ($500) for licensed operators. (2) Commencing on October 1, 2018, every license or registration issued by the board under this chapter shall be renewed biennially upon submission by the licensee or registrant of a renewal application and a renewal fee established by board rule, not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500), for each licensed cremationist, embalmer, funeral director, and funeral establishment. Section 34-28A-27 Fees. (a) The board shall publish, in a manner the board deems appropriate, fees for all of the following purposes: (1) Application for examination. (2) Initial licensing. (3) Renewal of licensure. (4) Late payment for renewal (monthly penalty). (5) Registration of speech-language pathology assistants and audiology assistants. (6) Late payment fees. (a) Every person who desires to engage in any of the practices designated to be within the meaning of this article shall file with the secretary of the board a written application for a certificate to practice or for an examination and license to practice, as the case may be, as provided in this article. The holder of a certificate or license issued by the board as provided by this chapter who continues in active practice of the profession within the meaning of this chapter shall, on or before January 1, renew his or her certificate or license and pay the renewal fee.
