Section 32-6-42 Responsibilities. The board shall have the following responsibilities: (1) advise the director on medical criteria relating to the safe operation of motor vehicles; (2) recommend to the director procedures and guidelines for licensing individuals with physical or mental impairment; (3) initiate the development of medically acceptable report forms; (4) direct research of medically impaired individuals; (5) recommend a training course for driver examiners in the medical aspects of licensure; (6) spearhead efforts to orient the general physician population as well as the public in the medical aspects of driver licensure; (7) assist in the development of regional driver license medical advisory boards to be constituted similarly to the board established by this division; and (8) evaluate individual problem cases that require more than one opinion or that cannot be screened out in light of guidelines established by the board. Section 34-11-9 Practice by firms. (a)(1) A firm that practices or offers to practice engineering or land surveying is required to obtain a certificate of authorization from the board in accordance with rules adopted by the board. (2) An entity that performs engineering services or land surveying services for itself, or for a parent or subsidiary, is not required to have a certificate of authorization. (a) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, a home medical equipment services provider shall be licensed annually by the board before the provider may engage in the provision of home medical equipment services.
