Section 34-17A-7 Employees; meetings; powers. (a) The board may employ a director, secretary, attorneys, experts, and other employees as it may from time to time find necessary for the proper performance of its duties, and for whom the necessary funds are appropriated. (b) The board shall elect annually a chair and a vice chair. Each member shall receive the same per diem and travel allowance as state employees for each day of attendance at an official meeting of the board. The board shall hold at least one regular meeting each year. Additional meetings may be held at the discretion of the chair or at the written request of any two members of the board. A majority of the current appointed members of the board shall constitute a quorum.
