Section 34-24-211 Application; fee. An applicant for licensure as a physical therapist or for
a license as a physical therapist assistant shall file a written application on forms provided
by the board together with fee as set by the board, no part of which shall be returned. The
applicant shall present evidence satisfactory to the board that he or she is of good moral
character and has completed a program of physical therapy education appropriate for training
a physical therapist or a physical therapist assistant, as the case may be, approved by the
board or a nationally recognized accrediting agency. Each applicant shall also be a citizen
of the United States or, if not a citizen of the United States, a person who is legally present
in the United States with appropriate documentation from the federal government. (Acts 1965,

Section 34-11-31 Qualifications of members. (a) Board members shall at all times maintain eligibility
to serve on the board avoiding relationships that would interfere with the board mission of
protecting health, life, safety, welfare, and property. (b) Each member of the board shall

Section 34-22-21 Reciprocity; pharmaceutical agents. Any person who has successfully passed
a standard examination in optometry in any state of the United States or all parts of the
examination given by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and is the holder of a certificate

Section 34-24-163 Issuance of certificates to persons practicing on January 1, 1960. Notwithstanding
any section of this article or any other law to the contrary, the board shall issue a license
to practice chiropractic without examination to any person in the active practice of chiropractic
in the State of Alabama on January 1, 1960; provided, that the person shall make a written

Section 34-28A-26 Suspension or revocation of licenses or issuance of reprimands to licensees;

Section 34-43-13 License renewal; reinstatement. (a) Each license shall be renewed biennially,
on or before the anniversary date, by forwarding to the board a renewal application accompanied
by the renewal fee. Each applicant for renewal for licensure shall be subject to a criminal
history check. Any license not renewed biennially on or before the anniversary date shall

Section 34-12-11 Reciprocity. (a) A person not a resident of, and having no established place
of business in Alabama, or who has recently become a resident thereof, may use the title of
registered forester and practice forestry provided: (1) Such person is legally licensed as
a registered forester in his or her own state or country and has submitted evidence to the
board that he or she is so licensed; (2) The state or country in which he or she is so licensed:

Section 34-14-1 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases
shall have the respective meanings ascribed by this section: (1) APPRENTICE. A person who
has met the requirements of Section 34-14-7 and may engage in the practice of fitting and
