Section 11-43B-19 Effect of chapter on preexisting rights of officers and employees. Nothing
contained in this chapter, except as specifically provided, shall affect or impair the rights
or privileges of officers or employees of the municipality or of any office, department, board,

Section 34-39-5 Exceptions. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed as preventing or restricting
the practice, services, or activities of any of the following persons: (1) Any person licensed
under any other law of the state from engaging in the profession for which he or she is licensed.

Section 26-17-103 Scope of chapter; choice of law. (a) This chapter applies to determination
of parentage in this state except for matters relating to legitimation and adoption. Nothing
in this chapter supersedes or modifies Alabama law regarding the requirements contained in
Section 26-10C-1. (b) The court shall apply the law of this state to adjudicate the parent-child
