Section 34-28A-42 Powers and duties of board generally; administrative fines. (a) The board
shall administer, coordinate, and enforce the provisions of this chapter, evaluate the qualifications
and supervise the examinations of applicants for licensure under this chapter and shall, at
its discretion, investigate allegations of practices violating the provisions of this chapter.
(b) The board shall adopt rules and regulations relating to professional conduct commensurate
with the policy of this chapter, including, but not limited to, regulations which establish
ethical standards of practice, and for other purposes, and may amend or repeal the same in

Section 34-41-7 Applicability; exemptions. (a) Except as provided in this section, any person
who publicly practices, or offers or attempts to publicly practice, geology in the State of
Alabama is subject to this chapter. (b) The following persons are exempt from licensing under

Section 34-9-29 Injunctions against violations of chapter. When it appears to the board that
any person is violating any of the provisions of this chapter, the board may in its own name
bring an action in the circuit court for an injunction, and said court of this state may enjoin
any person from violating this chapter regardless of whether proceedings have been or may
be instituted before the board or whether criminal proceedings have been or may be instituted.

Section 2-28-6.1 Certification permit, continuing education; expiration and renewal; disposition
of fees. Persons certified by the commissioner shall be issued a certification permit upon
which are designated the various categories and/or subcategories of professional work or services
such person is authorized to perform or supervise. Persons certified shall be required to
maintain this certification through continuing education. The amount, kind, and frequency
of continuing education required of a certified person shall be established pursuant to rules
and regulations as authorized under this chapter. The fees for renewal of certification permit

Section 34-2-32 Registered architect's services required; employees; exemptions; interprofessional
privileges between architects and professional engineers. (a) Nothing contained in this chapter
shall prevent: (1) Employees of registered architects from acting under the instructions or

Section 34-2-36 Penalties; hearing; enforcement; appeal. (a) On or after April 28, 1999, any
person who knowingly, willfully, or intentionally violates any provision of this chapter shall
