Section 25-12-5 Installation and operation to conform with rules and regulations. No boiler or pressure vessel which does not conform to the rules and regulations of the department governing new construction and installation shall be installed and operated in this state after 12 months from the date upon which the first rules and regulations under this chapter pertaining to new construction and installation shall have become effective, unless the boiler or pressure vessel is of special design or construction and is not inconsistent with the spirit and safety objectives of the rules and regulations, in that event, a special installation and operating permit may be granted by the department. (a) Every person, except those specifically exempted by statutory enactment, within five years from April 28, 1994, shall procure a boater safety certification before operating a motorized vessel upon the waters of this state, as defined in Section 33-5-3.
