Section 41-13-7 Identifying information of state employees on records available for public
inspection. (a) As used in this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings:
(1) EMPLOYEE. Any person who is regularly employed by the state and who is subject to the
provisions of the state Merit System or any person who is regularly employed by a criminal
justice agency or entity or by a law enforcement agency within the state or any honorably
retired employee thereof, to include, but not be limited to, the following: A judge of any
position, including a judge of a municipal court; a district attorney; a deputy district attorney;

Section 41-27-60 Definitions. For the purposes of this article, the following terms shall have
the following meanings: (1) AGENCY. The Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency. (2) MOTOR VEHICLE.
A vehicle intended primarily for use and operation on the public roads and highways which
is self-propelled. (3) NONCONSENSUAL TOWING. The moving, transporting, or recovery of a commercial

Section 9-11-2.1 Closing of existing hunting lands; replacement acreage; annual reports. (a)
For the purposes of this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1)
DEPARTMENT. The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. (2) DEPARTMENT-MANAGED
LANDS. Privately owned lands that are leased or managed by the department. (3) DEPARTMENT-OWNED
LANDS. Lands owned by the department and lands owned by the state over which the department

Section 9-7-10 Definitions. The following terms, whenever used in this chapter shall have the
following respective meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) COASTAL
AREA. The coastal waters, including the lands therein and thereunder, and the adjacent shorelands,
including the waters therein and thereunder, strongly influenced by each and in proximity
to the shorelines of Alabama and including transitional and intertidal areas, salt marshes,

Section 11-89C-9 Powers of governing bodies. (a) A governing body shall proceed under this
chapter as a participant in the public corporation or individually, to adopt upon reasonable
public notice and following public hearing all necessary rules and regulations by resolution
or ordinance to implement this chapter and to specifically regulate and control storm water
discharges and eliminate the discharge of pollutants to its municipal separate storm sewers.
