Section 41-9-1032 Refusal to grant license; disciplinary action; suspension or revocation of match permit. (a) The commission may refuse to grant a license to an applicant upon a finding by a majority of the entire commission that the applicant has failed to demonstrate the qualifications or standards for a license contained in this section or under the laws and rules under which licensure is sought. The applicant shall demonstrate to the satisfaction of the commission that he or she meets all the requirements for the issuance of a license, and, if the commission is not satisfied as to the qualifications of the applicant, it may deny a license without a prior hearing; however, the applicant shall be allowed to appear before the commission if he or she so desires. (a)(1) The State Board of Medical Examiners on its own motion may investigate any evidence which appears to show that a physician or osteopath holding a certificate of qualification to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of Alabama is or may be guilty of any of the acts, offenses, or conditions set out in Section 34-24-360.
