Section 41-8A-4 Powers and duties of director. (a) The ALEPA Director shall: (1) Supervise
and be responsible for the administration of the policies established by the state supervisory
board in accordance with the Safe Streets Act and LEAA regulations and guidelines. (2) Establish,
consolidate or abolish any administrative subdivision within the Alabama Law Enforcement Planning

Section 12-14-13 Probation. (a) Municipal courts may suspend execution of sentence and place
a defendant on probation for varying periods of time, not to exceed two years. (b) The court
may require such investigations as may be deemed necessary and desirable to be made by a probation
officer or such other suitable person or persons as the court may designate as to the circumstances
of the offense and the criminal record, social history and present condition of the defendant.

Section 25-5-290 Ombudsman program, creation; purpose; members; notification of service; benefit
review conferences. (a) The Department of Industrial Relations shall establish an Ombudsman
Program to assist injured or disabled employees, persons claiming death benefits, employers,
and other persons in protecting their rights and obtaining information available under the
Workers' Compensation Law. (b) Providing that the employer and the employee agree to participate
in the benefit review conference, the ombudsmen shall meet with or otherwise provide information
to injured or disabled employees, investigate complaints, and communicate with employers,
insurance carriers, and health care providers on behalf of injured or disabled employees.

Section 34-13-113 Application for license; inspection of establishment; issuance of license.
(a) Application for a license to operate a funeral establishment shall be made in writing
on a form provided by the board. The application shall be verified by the applicant or, if
the applicant is a corporation, firm, or other organization, by an officer or member thereof,
and shall be accompanied by an application fee established by the board not to exceed five
hundred dollars ($500). The application shall disclose all of the following: (1) The name

Section 38-4-2 Application for assistance; investigation; determination of eligibility and
amount of assistance; notice to applicant. (a) Applications for Temporary Assistance for Needy
Families (TANF) cash assistance shall be made to the county department in the manner prescribed
by the state department and shall contain such information as the state department may require;
provided, that nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed as requiring the signing
