Section 41-8A-4 Powers and duties of director. (a) The ALEPA Director shall: (1) Supervise and be responsible for the administration of the policies established by the state supervisory board in accordance with the Safe Streets Act and LEAA regulations and guidelines. (2) Establish, consolidate or abolish any administrative subdivision within the Alabama Law Enforcement Planning Agency and appoint and remove for cause the heads thereof, and delegate appropriate powers and duties to them. Section 12-14-13 Probation. (a) Municipal courts may suspend execution of sentence and place a defendant on probation for varying periods of time, not to exceed two years. (a) The Department of Industrial Relations shall establish an Ombudsman Program to assist injured or disabled employees, persons claiming death benefits, employers, and other persons in protecting their rights and obtaining information available under the Workers' Compensation Law.
