Section 41-8A-4 Powers and duties of director. (a) The ALEPA Director shall: (1) Supervise and be responsible for the administration of the policies established by the state supervisory board in accordance with the Safe Streets Act and LEAA regulations and guidelines. (2) Establish, consolidate or abolish any administrative subdivision within the Alabama Law Enforcement Planning Agency and appoint and remove for cause the heads thereof, and delegate appropriate powers and duties to them. (a) In Blount County, the district attorney for the Forty-first Judicial Circuit may appoint, with the concurrence of the county governing body, an investigator for the office who shall serve at the pleasure of the district attorney.
