Section 11-32-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following words and phrases shall
mean the following unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) AD VALOREM TAX. Those
real and personal property ad valorem taxes collected by the county tax collector, the director
of revenue of the county, or revenue commissioner, if any, for the county, but shall exclude
all ad valorem taxes collected for the State of Alabama and all boards of education, municipalities,
fire districts, or other entities located in the county. (2) APPLICANT. A natural person who
files a written application with the governing body of any county to which this chapter applies
and with a municipality in the county, all in accordance with Section 11-32-3. (3) AUTHORITY.
The public corporation organized pursuant to this chapter, which shall be an agency of the

by its chairman and attested by its secretary, and the seal of the authority shall be affixed
thereto, and any interest coupons applicable to the bonds of the authority shall be signed

Section 40-17-371 Cost of collection; distribution of tax proceeds. (a) The Alabama Department
of Revenue shall retain one-quarter of one percent (0.25%) of the tax proceeds, less any refunds,
from this additional excise tax on gasoline and diesel fuel for its cost of collection. The
department may adopt rules and such forms as may be necessary for the administration of the
excise tax provided for in this article. (b) Each month, prior to the remaining payments provided
in this article, up to $750,000 of the tax proceeds from the additional excise tax on gasoline
and up to $230,000 of the tax proceeds from the additional excise tax on diesel fuel shall
be distributed first to the Alabama Highway Finance Corporation for the payment of the principal
of and interest on bonds to be issued by it to finance improvements to the ship channel providing
access to the facilities of the Alabama State Docks, to the extent necessary for such purpose.

Section 11-89A-10 Security for payment of bonds; contracts and agreements to secure. (a) Any
bonds issued by the authority shall be revenue bonds and shall be payable solely out of such
revenues of the authority as may be designated in the proceedings of the board under which
they shall be authorized to be issued. Any such proceedings may provide that the bonds therein
authorized shall be payable solely out of the revenues derived from the operation of any facility
or facilities owned by the authority, regardless of the fact that those bonds may have been
issued with respect to or for the benefit of a certain facility or facilities of the authority.
(b) As security for payment of the principal and interest on any bonds issued or assumed by
it, any authority may enter into a contract or contracts, and adopt resolutions or other proceedings

Section 11-89A-2 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this chapter, and others
evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of a clear implication
herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) APPLICANT.

Section 12-15-314 Dispositions for dependent children. (a) If a child is found to be dependent,
the juvenile court may make any of the following orders of disposition to protect the welfare
of the child: (1) Permit the child to remain with the parent, legal guardian, or other legal
custodian of the child, subject to conditions and limitations as the juvenile court may prescribe.
(2) Place the child under protective supervision under the Department of Human Resources.

Section 40-12-240 Definitions. (a) For the purpose of this article, the following terms shall
have the respective meanings ascribed by this section: (1) DEPARTMENT. The Alabama Department

Section 45-8-242 Levy of tax; advisory referendum; collection of tax; disposition of funds.
(a) This section shall only apply to Calhoun County. (b) As used in this section, state sales
and use tax means the tax imposed by the state sales and use tax statutes, including, but
not limited to, Sections 40-23-1, 40-23-2, 40-23-4, 40-23-60, 40-23-61, 40-23-62, and 40-23-63.
(c)(1) The County Commission of Calhoun County may levy in the police jurisdictions of the
incorporated municipalities in the county and in the unincorporated areas of the county, in
addition to all other taxes a sales and use tax, parallel to the state sales and use tax,
