Section 37-4-1 Definitions. Unless otherwise specified, when used in this article, these terms shall have the following meanings: (1) COMMISSION. The Alabama Public Service Commission. (2) COMMISSIONER. A member of the commission. (3) MUNICIPALITY. Any municipal corporation organized under the laws of this state. (4) PERSON. Such term shall mean and include individuals, associations of individuals, firms, partnerships, companies, corporations, municipalities, governmental agencies, their lessees, trustees, or receivers appointed by any court whatsoever, in the singular number as well as in the plural. Section 34-21-126 Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators. (a) The party states hereby create and establish a joint public entity known as the Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators. (1) The commission is an instrumentality of the party states. (2) Venue is proper, and judicial proceedings by or against the commission shall be brought solely and exclusively, in a court of competent jurisdiction where the principal office of the commission is located. Section 9-16-90 Environmental protection performance standards. (a) Any permit issued pursuant to this article to conduct surface mining operations shall require that such surface coal mining operations will meet all applicable performance standards of this article, and such other requirements as the regulatory authority shall promulgate. Section 34-21-2 Board of Nursing generally. (a) There is created the Board of Nursing, which shall be composed of 13 members to be appointed and have the duties and powers enumerated in this section. The membership of the board shall be inclusive and reflect the racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state. In order to insure continuity of administration, the nine board members provided for by Section 3 of Act 427, Regular Session 1975, shall continue to serve to the completion of the term for which they are serving.
