Section 45-22-231 Abandoned and stolen property. (a) The Sheriff of Cullman County is authorized to sell at public auction, in the manner provided in this section abandoned and stolen personal property recovered by the sheriff's department, which property has remained unclaimed by the rightful owner thereof for a period of six consecutive months. (b) The Sheriff of Cullman County shall keep and maintain a permanent record of all abandoned and stolen personal property recovered by the sheriff's department, which records shall state the description of the property, the date of recovery of the property, the serial or other identifying number of the property, and the place of recovery of the property. Section 32-8-49 Suspension or revocation of certificates. (a) The department shall suspend or revoke a certificate of title, subject to the appeal provisions of Chapter 2A of Title 40, when authorized by any other provision of law or if it finds: (1) The certificate of title was fraudulently procured or erroneously issued; or (2) The vehicle has been scrapped, dismantled or destroyed.
