Section 40-2A-8 Procedures governing denial or revocation of licenses, permits, and certificates of title; procedures for contesting any other act or failure to act; appeals. (a) The department shall notify a taxpayer in writing of any act or proposed act or refusal to act concerning the denial or revocation of a license, permit, or certificate of title concerning which the taxpayer has any interest. The notice must be mailed by either first-class U.S. mail, U.S. mail with delivery confirmation, or certified U.S. mail to the taxpayer's last known address. Any taxpayer aggrieved by any act or proposed act or refusal to act concerning the denial or revocation of a license, permit, or certificate of title by the department shall be entitled to file a notice of appeal from such act or proposed act or refusal to act with the Alabama Tax Tribunal. Effective October 1, 1997, all the assets of the retirement system shall be credited according to the purpose for which they are held among three funds, namely: The Annuity Savings Fund, the Pension Accumulation Fund, and the Expense Fund. Section 32-5-222 Requirements for child passenger restraints. (a) Every person transporting a child in a motor vehicle operated on the roadways, streets, or highways of this state, shall provide for the protection of the child by properly using an aftermarket or integrated child passenger restraint system meeting applicable federal motor vehicle safety standards and the requirements of subsection (b). This section shall not be interpreted to release in part or in whole the responsibility of an automobile manufacturer to insure the safety of children to a level at least equivalent to existing federal safety standards for adults.
