Section 8-6-7 Registration of securities - Registration by qualification. (a) Any security may be registered by qualification. Section 32-7-9 Application to nonresidents, unlicensed drivers, unregistered motor vehicles and accidents in other states. (a) In case the operator or the owner of a motor vehicle involved in an accident within this state has no license or registration or is a nonresident, he shall not be allowed a license or registration until he or she has complied with the requirements of this chapter to the same extent that would be necessary if, at the time of the accident, he or she had held a license and registration. Section 32-7A-12 Suspension of registration. (a) The department shall suspend the vehicle registration of any motor vehicle determined to be in violation of Section 32-7A-4, including any motor vehicle operated in violation of Section 32-7A-16 by an operator other than the owner of the vehicle. Neither the fact that, subsequent to the date of verification or violation, the owner acquired the required liability insurance policy nor the fact that the owner terminated ownership of the motor vehicle shall have any bearing upon the required suspension.
