Section 32-6-31 Terms of compact. The Driver License Compact is hereby enacted into law and entered into with all other jurisdictions legally joining therein in the form substantially as follows: Driver License Compact Article I Findings and Declaration of Policy (a) The party states find that: (1) The safety of their streets and highways is materially affected by the degree of compliance with state and local ordinances relating to the operation of motor vehicles. (2) Violation of such a law or ordinance is evidence that the violator engages in conduct which is likely to endanger the safety of persons and property. (3) The continuance in force of a license to drive is predicated upon compliance with laws and ordinances relating to the operation of motor vehicles, in whichever jurisdiction the vehicle is operated. (a) A secondary metals recycler shall maintain a legible record of all purchase transactions of ferrous or nonferrous metals to which the secondary metals recycler is a party. The record shall include all of the following information: (1) The name and address of the secondary metals recycler. (2) The name or identification of the employee responsible for making the purchase on behalf of the secondary metals recycler. (3) The date and time of the transaction. (4) The weight, quantity, or volume and a description of the type of metal property purchased in a purchase transaction. Section 15-20A-17 Adult sex offender - Loitering in certain areas; requirements for entering K-12 school property or attending K-12 school events. (a)(1) No adult sex offender, after having been convicted of a sex offense involving a minor, shall loiter on or within 500 feet of the property line of any property on which there is a school, childcare facility, playground, park, athletic field or facility, school bus stop, college or university, or any other business or facility having a principal purpose of caring for, educating, or entertaining minors. (2) Under this subsection, loiter means to enter or remain on property while having no legitimate purpose or, if a legitimate purpose exists, remaining on that property beyond the time necessary to fulfill that purpose. Section 34-1A-7 Licenses - Required. (a) Effective January 1, 1998, it shall be unlawful for any person or business entity to engage in a business regulated by this chapter in this state without a current valid license or in violation of this chapter and applicable rules and regulations of the board. (a) For each truck or truck tractor using the public highways of this state, annual license taxes and registration fees based on the gross vehicle weight in pounds are imposed and shall be charged.
